Business and Operations is comprised of seven central functions, each committed to providing world class foundational services that support, sustain and inspire success at Pitt.
Office of Business, Hospitality and Auxiliary Services
Business, Hospitality and Auxiliary Services leads foundational business services across the University including dining, housing, transportation and mobility, conference services, mailing, surplus property services and more, committed to providing superior customer service in all that they do.
Office of Facilities Management
Facilities Management is responsible for maintaining, preserving and enhancing the University’s physical assets. Core services include building and grounds maintenance, utilities management and custodial services to ensure a safe, operational and appealing campus environment.
Office of Human Resources
The Office of Human Resources works in collaboration with the University community through the departments of Administration, Benefits, Compensation, Employee and Labor Relations, Organization Development, Shared Services, Talent Acquisition, and the University Child Development Center, as an integral component in support of the University of Pittsburgh's Mission to advance teaching, research, and public service.
Office of Planning, Design and Construction
Planning, Design and Construction is responsible for all areas of property and space management at the University. Core services include strategic development and advancement of the campus master plan, real estate and leasing portfolio management, facilities design and space planning services.
Office of Public Safety and Emergency Management
Public Safety and Emergency Management protects the safety and well-being of the Pitt community. The office includes a team of over 100 commissioned Pitt Police officers at the Pittsburgh campus, with public safety oversight for Pitt’s Bradford, Greensburg, Johnstown and Titusville campuses, and the departments of Environmental Health and Safety, Emergency Planning and Integrated Security.
Office of Real Estate
The Office of Real Estate leads implementation of the University's real estate strategy to meet core space needs and support community and economic development objectives. The Office provides expertise in lease management, property acquisition and disposition transactions, asset management, and public private development partnerships.
