Business and Operations is comprised of seven central functions, each committed to providing world class foundational services that support, sustain and inspire success at Pitt.
Office of Business, Hospitality and Auxiliary Services
Business, Hospitality and Auxiliary Services leads foundational business services across the University including dining, housing, transportation and mobility, conference services, mailing, surplus property services and more, committed to providing superior customer service in all that they do.
Office of Facilities Management
Facilities Management is responsible for maintaining, preserving, and enhancing the University’s physical assets. Core services include building and grounds maintenance, utilities management, and custodial services to ensure a safe, operational, and appealing campus environment.
Office of Human Resources
Human Resources works in collaboration with the University community through the departments of Administration, Benefits, Compensation, Employee and Labor Relations, Organization Development, Shared Services, Talent Acquisition, and the University Child Development Center, as an integral component in support of the University's mission to advance teaching, research, and public service.
Office of Planning, Design and Construction
Planning, Design and Construction oversees campus development, including capital planning, architectural design, construction, signage, and space planning services, supporting advancement of the University’s campus master plan.
Office of Public Safety and Emergency Management
Public Safety and Emergency Management protects the safety and well-being of the Pitt community. The office includes a team of over 100 commissioned Pitt Police officers at the Pittsburgh campus, with public safety oversight for Pitt’s Bradford, Greensburg, Johnstown and Titusville campuses, and the departments of Environmental Health and Safety, Emergency Planning and Integrated Security.
Office of Real Estate
Real Estate leads real estate planning, including property acquisitions, dispositions, and lease portfolio management, encompassing over two million square feet of owned and leased space.
Office of Sustainability
The Office of Sustainability oversees all aspects of sustainability for the University, including strategic plan development, implementation and analytics, continuing to advance Pitt as a global sustainability leader to benefit both people and the planet.
