Gina Bleck Joins Pitt as Vice Chancellor for Planning, Design and Construction

Gina Bleck joins Business and Operations as the new Vice Chancellor for the Office of Planning, Design and Construction. She joins the University of Pittsburgh with prior leadership roles in capital projects at Georgetown and Rutgers universities.

Gina will be responsible for senior leadership of the new Office of Planning, Design and Construction, guiding the institution’s vision and overseeing the completion of projects, and developing long-range strategies consistent with the University’s Campus Master Plan and Institutional Master Plan. In addition to coordination with internal partners across the University, Gina will engage with local stakeholders such as the Oakland Planning and Development Corporation and the City of Pittsburgh.

During her recent tenue at Georgetown, Gina led a team responsible for establishing project parameters, ensuring project success within the approved budgets and schedules, in addition to collaboration with university stakeholders and outside consultants and contractors. Some noteworthy projects include but are not limited to: the renovation of every residence hall on campus; and the construction of new residence halls, athletic, and academic buildings. Increased attention was given to the accessibility and sustainability of every project, in addition to ensuring projects fit within the established tapestry of the University’s campus.

Gina received a MPS in Urban & Regional Planning from Georgetown University in addition to an Executive Masters in Leadership from Georgetown’s McDonough School of Business, and a Bachelors in Architecture from the Boston Architectural College. She is a member of the American Institute of Architects, National Council of Architectural Registration Boards, and the Association of University Architects.
